1997 Ford F350 Power Stroke Buildup Ground Wire
We connected our ground wire (black with blue connector) to one of the 13mm bolts that held our emergency brake pedal assembly in place. The ground didn't require any specific mounting location, which is why we chose this out-of-the-way location. And, because a lot of bad wiring is the result of a dirty ground, we made sure the connection was clean.

Finding a power source was simple. All we needed was a 12-volt source that would be off when the truck's ignition was off, and on when the ignition was on. We chose to use the 15-amp circuit that powers our radio.

From inside the cab, we drilled a 3/16-inch hole (arrow) in the steering shaft boot, then fed the sending unit and boost wiring through to the engine compartment. It's important to note that all wiring should be fed through at this time, as excess wire can be cut off later, and we were particularly careful when feeding the boost line through. A pinched or kinked boost line will result in little to no airflow, and inaccurate boost readings.

1997 Ford F350 Power Stroke Buildup Pyrometer Probe
We installed our pyrometer probe in the EGT bung in our MBRP downpipe, which the guys at Diesel Tech had previously drilled and welded in for us. It is important to note, that with our probe sitting in the downpipe, our EGT gauge will read slightly cooler than if our probe was installed in one of the exhaust manifolds.
