07 F150 Gasoline Vs 06 F150 Power Stroke Installing Air Filter
The cold air induction kit for the 6.0L Power Stroke comes with a giant high-flow air filter to replace the convoluted paper honeycomb provided by Ford. A steel baffle keeps the hot engine bay air away from the intake and is aided by insulated trim that seals the box, including a seal for the intake tube hole that's not found in other kits on the market.

07 F150 Gasoline Vs 06 F150 Power Stroke Big G Power Module
The Big G power module is a fairly simple installation that will instantly give you more than 100 hp at the rear wheels. With the "Mileage Miser" setting, the same truck can also achieve a 3 mpg improvement while enjoying more than 50 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque over stock.

The Big G comes with the module, a control knob for the various built-in power settings, and a custom wiring harness with all the connections needed for the upgrade. You can also order an in-cab monitor to keep an eye on your EGT, transmission temperature, engine temperature, and more. It can be set to pull back the programming when any of those measurements reach the danger zones.

07 F150 Gasoline Vs 06 F150 Power Stroke Fuego Flash Tuner
The Fuego flash tuner is for those who want even more control and more power from their diesel engine. It has so many features there's no way we could list them all here. Some highlights include the ability to adjust fuel timing, the option to change transmission shift points and firmness, and live data monitoring and data logging. This programmer works for all Fords, so we were able to program both trucks with the same Fuego.

07 F150 Gasoline Vs 06 F150 Power Stroke Soot Flying
The final dyno pull of the day sent the soot flying. The truck was measured after each power-adder was installed, then the Fuego was set to "Race," with the Big G stacked on top. That's the equivalent of adding a cup of sugar to a bowl of Cap'n Crunch-it's so good it should be illegal. The dyno results were amazing, but the factory exhaust isn't very good at these performance levels, so the EGT quickly climbed above the 1,250-degree comfort zone. It's probably fine for a pass or two down the dragstrip, but it's a good idea to upgrade the pipes and stay safe. The Big G with the in-cab monitor can keep an eye on the EGT for you until the factory exhaust is replaced.

07 F150 Gasoline Vs 06 F150 Power Stroke Far Front View
Imagine our surprise when we were handed the keys after this wild criss-crossing burnout. The owner of the truck, Morgan Figueroa, was more than happy to share his Power Stroke. So what's it like to launch a 3/4-ton truck with almost 500 hp? It's awesome, of course! The back tires were practically melted when we got behind the wheel, so there was no tire spin off the line. After about a 1/4-second of turbo lag, the Super Duty took off like a dragster. The power quickly overcame the weight of the truck and turned it into an inertia missile that rocketed down the street and reached an illegal speed in half a block. It was truly hard to believe the truck had been a bone stock 6.0L at the start of the day.
