We ordered a ProParts Quad Pod to help us monitor the turbo boost pressure, EGT, transmission temperature, and rear differential temperature. The staff at All About Diesels packs the A-pillar with Auto Meter gauges that are clocked so you know you're in trouble if the temperature needles point to the right of the 12 o'clock position.

2002 Ford Super Duty Gauge Install Cables
After choosing which gauges we wanted (boost, EGT, transmission temperature, and differential temperature), the team at All About Diesels mounted the Auto Meter gauges and assembled a custom wiring harness for the Super Duty. It's built for longevity using only soldered connections and heat-shrink tubing (instead of electrical tape) inside a tough plastic wire loom. The custom harness is also designed to make installation easy. All of the wires are pre-cut, strapped together with zip ties, and labeled so you can keep all the connections straight.

2002 Ford Super Duty Gauge Install Gauge Pod Setup
The interior color-matched gauge pod setup we ordered came with all the equipment needed to monitor the turbodiesel drivetrain in our Ford Super Duty. The kit comes with an EGT thermocouple (center) and (left to right) a boost tube extender T-fitting, a differential temperature sensor, a transmission temperature sensor, an inline fuse, and plenty of zip ties. The package also comes with step-by-step instructions (with photos to help guide you through the installation), an All About Diesels catalog, and a list of turbodiesel gauge specifications.

2002 Ford Super Duty Gauge Install Removing Original A Pillar Cover
In order to remove the original A-pillar cover, you will need to remove the weather stripping from around the door sill and take out the side window vent cover on the side of the dash. To remove the original A-pillar cover, you need to detach the grab handle then pull the plastic piece away from the A-pillar. In our test truck there was already a three-pod gauge cluster on top of the original cover. That just added another step where the mounting pins had to be cut to separate the two pillar covers.
