My friend put a dpf delete kit on his 6.7 and he gets 20mpg or more and sounds like a beast. I have a stock 06 ram 2500 55000 miles.I had hard starting issues the dealer loaded in a new program and this seems to be cured.But it seemed to have a little less power and lots of smoke when pushed hard.Now the real interesting part, I installed a boost gauge and have NONE.I checked the turbo,spins free,waste gate is closed,no leaks or holes in cooler or inlet lines.Also checked the gauge its ok.Anybody have any ideas?<br /><br /><div><a href="http://forums.dieselpowermag.com/70/7123802/cummins/cummins-boost-or-lack-of/index.html">Read More</a> |

It's my daily driver, pulls the 5th wheel on the weekend and I would like to eventually do the odd 1/4 mile run. I've put on 4in turbo back exhuast and a bd low fuel pressure light. Thinking about some electronics next, I can get the hypertech max energy or the diablo sport predator and the power puck for super cheap right now. I would like to know how much the stock trany will take and what to upgrade first. I was looking at valve bodies but a friend said that i can do the same thing with a TCS shift kit and it is way cheaper. Couple of points / clarification to the guide. Page 165 Dodge Ram Rear Axle - Mag says Dana 70 in 2500, Dana 80 in 3500. True, with following correction, manual trans 2500 with the Cummins has the Dana 80, Auto has the Dana 70 My son's truck is a 97 2500 with NV4500 and the Dana 80, my truck is a 2002 2500 with 47Re and the Dana 70. Page 165 GM C/K Series K10, K20 - says 8.875 inch 12 bolt rear in 82 to 84 K10, correction is that some K10's came with 12 bolt rear up to 87. My K10 Silverado has the 12 bolt rear, with 3.73 and the 350 ci gas motor. You can also submit prices as well. I used this on a vacation I took from Boise, ID to San Diego, CA .... and used it to find cheaper diesel while in southern California. Ive been reading diesel power mag for 2.5 years and just got my own 2006 duramax LLY about a month ago. I don't know much yet but was wondering if a turbo back straight pipe is legal in Pennsylvania on an 06. :confused:whats the best exhaust for good flow and that nice rich turbo diesel sound. Also i was wondering if anyone had advice on programmers IE: Edge Juice, Banks, Bully Dog, etc....? I know the best way would be to remove front cover and start from scratch. Is there a way to know for sure that the timing marks are lined up without doing so? I have read that the gears adjacent to the slot where the pump tooth lands are permanantly died, but I can't tell by looking at the cam gear from the top slot. I know the engine is off time because the kid I got the rig from told me he didn't bother to line the timing marks up before he robbed the old pump off it. I am a mechanic and I have some experience with these engines, but I always make sure I set myself up for the next step by doing things like lining up timing marks before I remove injector pumps...Just didn't know if there is a trick out there. I suppose I could fish around with a pick and find the Y on the cam gear.
