Audi has announced pricing and fuel economy figures for the new 2014 Audi A6, A7, and Q5 TDI clean diesel models. These models – expected to arrive at U.S. dealers later this summer – join the newly-introduced Audi A8 L TDI clean diesel (EPA estimated 24 city/36 highway/28 combined MPG) and the highly-successful 2014 Audi Q7 TDI (EPA estimated 19 city/28 highway/22 combined MPG). An Audi A3 sedan – indeed available with a TDI clean diesel engine - is set to arrive in 2014. Delivering 30% better fuel economy and 30% lower carbon dioxide emissions than gasoline engines, TDI technology provides desirable fuel efficiency and clean performance. Scott Keogh, President, Audi of America: “Audi has been at the forefront of clean diesel since the introduction of Audi TDI technology in the U.S. in 2009. As drivers increasingly look for high fuel efficiency and low-emissions output, demand for diesel is on the rise. The introduction of the highly-efficient Audi A6, A7 and Q5 TDIs continue Audi’s commitment to clean diesel technology and further the brand’s focus on balanced performance solutions that improve efficiency and driving dynamics.” The 2014 Audi A6 TDI – with its 3.0-liter TDI clean diesel V6 – has an EPA estimated 24 city/38 highway/29 combined MPG and a starting price of $57,500. It produces an impressive 240hp and 428lb-ft torque with a 0-60 MPG launch of 5.5 seconds through an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. The TDI joins the A6 2.0T, A6 3.0T, and S6. The 2014 Audi A7 TDI – starting at $66,900 - boasts estimated EPA fuel economy figures of 24 city/38 highway/29 combined MPG. This is the first clean diesel five-door coupe, and was the first car to feature factory-installed Wi-Fi through Audi connect. The A7 TDI joins the all-new RS 7, A7 3.0T, and S7. The Audi Q5 is one of the best-selling models in Audi’s lineup. The $46,500 (starting price) 2014 Audi Q5 TDI has an EPA estimated fuel economy of 24 city/31 highway/27 combined MPG. This five passenger SUV has a spacious, luxurious interior but offers practicality for everyday driving. The Q5 TDI joins the 354hp SQ5 (the first-ever S variant of a Q model), 2.0T, 3.0T, and hybrid option. By Monica Gonderman Enjoyed this Post?
