2014 Ram ProMaster Full Size Van Priced

Ram Commercial has just announced pricing for its new full size cargo and cut away chassis cab vans it's adding to its 2014 lineup. Initially revealed at the 2013 Chicago auto show, the 2014 Ram ProMaster is based off of the Fiat Ducato sold in Europe. The Ram ProMaster is powered by either a 280-Horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 or an optional 174-Horsepower 3.0-liter EcoDiesel four cylinder engine that generates 295 pound feet of torque at 1,400 rpm and has a GCWR of 12,500 pounds.

Backing up all that power is either a 62TE six-speed automatic transmission or an optional M40 automated six-speed manual transmission. The M40 gearbox works with an electro-hydraulic actuation system that is paired with gearbox software that response to changing road conditions. Shift logic is adjusted according to grade steepness and helps deliver greater overall fuel economy.

One of the biggest features of the Ram ProMaster is that it's built as a front-wheel-drive platform which gives it its massive cargo capability that includes a low step in height as well as a tall roof height in either 90 or 101 inches, allowing you to load large bulky objects with ease. To make loading even easier, the Ram ProMaster also has an available two-position rear clamshell door that swings open up to 260-degrees to allow for easy fork lift pallet loading. The ProMaster also features up to 17 optional tie-down rings rated at 1,000-pounds each and they fold away to maintain a flat floor when not in use.

The 2014 Ram ProMaster also offers over 35 safety and security features, including six air bags as standard equipment as well as electronic stability control for improved on road stability. The Ram ProMaster features a 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty the all-new 2014 Ram ProMaster s. Prices start at $26,030, $26,530, and $28,630 for the Cutaway, Chassis Cab, and Cargo Van models respectively, not including $995 destination fee. Look for it to hit Ram dealers late this year.
