Garrett Shields' black Dodge was one of the strongest-running pullers out there and placed in both the Street and Super Street classes.

Perhaps the most talked-about truck of the event was this one belonging to Troy Wakeman, who took the Street class win home for the Duramax crowd.

For Troy, winning didn't come easy. He first got bounced out of the Street class for an illegal turbo (that later turned out to be legal) and his crew performed a turbo swap in an amazing time of 30 minutes. To make matters worse, Troy broke his arm right before the event, so he was pulling one-handed. Despite being built on the ragged edge of the rules with a white-smoking engine and a trick CO2 system that froze the intercooler while pulling, his truck was found to be 100-percent legal.

While on one heck of a hook, Van Haisley of Haisley Machine sheared off most of the teeth in his drop-box transfer case and locked up the front end of his son's 1,500hp Modified pulling truck. The motor zinged straight to the moon, and the locked front axle caused him to get hit by the sled (note the rear wheels are up in the air!). Thankfully, nobody was hurt, and by some miracle, the truck was back pulling the next day, despite showing 7,498 rpm on the data logger. Van knew he was lucky this time and showed us some pieces from his last motor that hit 7,500 rpm. Ouch.
