Forged Duramax Pistons
Now available from TTS, these forged pistons are designed for high-performance use in diesel competition engines that are subjected to extreme cylinder pressures. Due to their forged construction (production Duaramax pistons are cast-aluminum), the TTS pistons have no oil-cooling galley. Instead, they are plated (not coated) with a heat-rejecting substance called Black Magic that was designed for the aerospace industry. The pistons are available in two different compression ratios (15:1 and 17:1), and five different bore sizes: stock, 0.010-inch overbore, 0.020-inch overbore, 0.030-inch overbore, and 0.040-inch overbore. Custom bore sizes, compression ratios, as well as stroker pistons, are also available by special order.

Lift It Yourself
ReadyLift's new SST Hybrid Fixed Lift System offers 3 1/2 inches of lift for '05-'09 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Dutys. It claims the lift allows wheel and tire combinations up to 37 inches while maintaining the smooth OEM ride and drivability. The kit comes with 5-inch rear blocks with integrated bumpstop pads, 3 1/2-inch coil spring spacers with sound isolators, a track bar relocation bracket, Panhard drop bracket, front bumpstops, a carrier bearing spacer, shock extension brackets, a pair of radius-arm drop brackets, and all hardware needed to install the lift.

Internal Inspection
Tracer Products has recently released its TP-9354 Cobra-4 multipurpose borescope. It features a dual-head flashlight with blue and white LEDs, which enable users to inspect and check pistons, intake valves, intercoolers, fuel systems, and radiators without having to disassemble them. The blue-light LED can be used to check for surface flaws and detect leaks, while the white-light LED is best for component inspection. All Cobra-4 borescopes come with a clip-on, angled inspection mirror, three AAA batteries, and fluorescence-enhancing glasses.
