Hudson's Race Legacy
The Hudson Motor Car Company was known for its dominating race cars and ahead-of-its-time technological innovations. This legacy was acknowledged in the Disney and Pixar movie, Cars. It featured Doc Hudson, a jaded old racer who won three Piston Cups. This story is based on reality, as the Hudson Hornet won NASCAR championships in 1951, 1952, and 1953. This stock car boasted many pioneering features, including unibody construction, which made the Hudson light and low to the ground. Due to its complicated construction, the Hudson couldn't make annual design changes like competing car companies could.
