The King Ranch edition of Ford's '06 F-350 Super Duty is a badass truck to start with. When Off Road Unlimited got done modifying this one, it became a one-of-a-kind vehicle.

ChiChi Cardenas bought his brand-new '06 Ford F-350 King Ranch edition diesel pickup and decided that even Ford's upscale trim level wasn't enough. With the paper plates still on the truck, Cardenas drove it to Off Road Unlimited in Burbank, California, and told the crew that he had an idea of how they could build him the coolest dualie around.

With a toy model as an example and Cardenas' ideas, the ORU guys went to work-and then continued to work, and then worked some more. It took about three months to get the truck done, but Cardenas has declared that it was worth the inconvenience of not having the truck to drive for a good long time.

One of Cardenas' dreams was to have front wheels that didn't look like typical dualie wheels. This wish proved to be a pretty tough one, but the guys at ORU were willing to do just about anything to make those dreams come true. After receiving a pair of 22.5-inch big-rig wheels from American Force Wheels, Cardenas knew this was the look that he was going for. The only problem, and it was a big one, was that the tires Cardenas wanted to use for this purpose were 22-inch BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain limited edition tires. If you're quick with your math, you'll notice right away that the wheels are half an inch too big for the tires. After much head-scratching and sketches on paper, a serious decision was made: Machine the wheels down to fit. It took about a month and a half of planning and executing to get the wheel and tire combination right, but it's a real focal point of the truck, and Cardenas is more than pleased with the result.

Some serious front fender work was required to accommodate the front wheel and tire combo, and that job was handed over to Julian's Auto Body. There, Julian took 2-1/2 inches off the fenders and reshaped them to look stock. He also reworked the inner fenders through cutting and a heat gun, until they looked just like the factory built them.
