The engine is based on a production '02 Cummins 24-valve block with a traditional 12-valve cylinder head. The crankshaft and connecting rods are basically reworked production Cummins pieces, but the pistons have been replaced with low-compression Arias units. A Scheid Diesel timing cover was used to mount a 12-cylinder Bosch P-series mechanical injection pump that features two lines per injector to feed each cylinder more than 1,000 cc of fuel! That's almost seven times the amount of fuel a stock P-pump Cummins puts out. Keep in mind that Scheid Diesel will sell you any of these components--so you can build your own race engine!
