Powerplant Transplant
The truck ran fantastic for a few months until the number three piston seized in the bore, causing the connecting rod to break, which then snapped the camshaft in half and punched a gaping hole through the side of the block. Needless to say, the engine was toast. So the truck was taken back to Industrial Injection for a new engine.
Industrial Injection sourced all the parts for the engine and rebuilt the 5.9L Cummins to be stronger than stock. The new engine was built with a Diesel Pro camshaft and aftermarket pistons. While the engine was out of the truck, Brady Williams switched out the Towing Twin turbo setup for a set of Race Twin turbos.
Since leaving Industrial Injection's shop for the second time Robert hasn't found any problems with the truck and has had some good success in competition. At the J&H Performance Tough Truck Challenge in 2008 Robert took Second place to the winner Nick D'Amico's unbeatable '01 Duramax. Robert has since run an 11.30-second quarter-mile at 122 mph, an impressive pass for a truck weighing more than 7,500 pounds.
Robert Evans has overcome the disability caused by losing his right hand and built a very impressive truck. Robert and his blue Cummins are becoming a force to be reckoned with at diesel events in the Northwest. And while his current Cummins isn't quite as tough as his old military Bradley, it has quite a bit more power.

A triple pillar pod with DiPricol... A triple pillar pod with DiPricol gauges helps Robert keep an eye on all essential temperatures. | The Race Twin turbo setup... The Race Twin turbo setup consists of a Silver Bullet top turbo and a Big Brother lower turbo that were both polished. The dual CP3 injection pumps use a modified Duramax CP3 pump that's belt-driven on top, as well as a Stage II CP3 pump in the stock location. The factory air intake heater was removed from the intake using a bolt-in adapter from Left Coast Diesel. Robert is very grateful to his father, Keith Evans, and his friend T.J. Brown for the help and support they provided during the buildup. One of Keith's contributions to the truck is the airbrushed flame paintjob on the valve cover. | The M2A2 Bradley fighting...
