Construction Site UpgradesFrank regularly drives the truck off-road at construction sites for work, so the off-road capabilities needed to be improved too. Frank needed the truck to be lifted for ground clearance, but not too tall to hinder everyday driving. A 4-inch Superlift suspension and 35-inch tires seemed like a good fit for his needs. Gears and lockers were also needed to help tackle those mud holes that are a regular occurrence in the Colorado mountains where Frank resides. The stock 3.73 axle gears were replaced with 4.56 gears, the front AAM 925 axle got an ARB Air Locker, and the rear AAM 1150 got a Gov-Loc from a General Motors application.
Redskins Football Fan In Bronco CountryNow to explain the paint scheme: Frank grew up in Washington D.C., so he has been a Redskins fan his entire life. He admits that he gets a lot of grief for this living in Colorado (Denver Bronco territory), but he wanted his truck to portray his passion for the Redskins. The dark red exterior with yellow accents matches the Redskins colors well, and to top it off, Frank removed all the stock emblems and installed Redskins emblems. Frank wanted to build the truck to be practical and tough, so the bumpers were replaced by a Fab Fours front bumper with a 12,000-pound capacity Warn winch and a rear Roughnecks bumper. Black Bushwacker pocket-style fender flares and black bedrail caps add the finishing touch to the exterior and tie the bumpers together with the black KMC XD wheels.
Future plansThe interior of this truck remains relatively stock at the moment, aside from a complete Kenwood stereo system that was installed by Durango Truck Accessories. Frank plans to modify the interior in the future with new seats, most likely in a similar Redskins-inspired color scheme.Frank has done a great job of building a truck that has enormous power and other upgrades that help it function better. It's basically an everyday work truck with practical modifications that give it the potential to move very, very fast.
