The transmission is a Sun Coast Stage V with a 1058 converter. Mika also installed billet shafts and a billet C2 hub himself, and adding an ATS Co-Pilot offered much improved gear changes.
To make sure that power is driven to the road correctly, there are also some modifications in the steering and suspension. The front end is cranked as low as the DJM drop kit allows, and the rear suspension sports CalTracs traction bars to avoid tire hopping. Straight launches are secured with a Cognito centerlink and tie-rod sleeves.
The Duramax is Mika's daily driver, so it carries full loads of equipment and has a good stereo. A Blaupunkt Aspen DVD and GPS, a Pioneer subwoofer, and a full arrangement of speakers put out the tunes. The insanely aggressive flame and skull paint job was sprayed by FAW Design.
And how does it run? Well its first quarter-mile pass in the middle of May was an 11.2 at 125 mph, and there is more to come, as the truck was fighting boost, electrical, and transmission gremlins. Now, outrunning sports cars is no problem, which could be how the truck got the nickname "The Punisher." If there is one thing you can be sure of, it's that "The Power King" will be making a 10-second pass in his Duramax very soon.
