The differentials were beefed up with Detroit Lockers, and the driveshafts were fitted with 1410 series U-joints. The halfshafts are from a Hummer ambulance (which uses stronger pieces to cope with the added weight) and are connected to the stock 2.73 axle gears. To reduce drivetrain breakage, all Hummer H1s come with gear-reduction hubs at each wheel.
