West Coast Customs Big Rig Show Convertible Semi
This slammed convertible semi stole the show. The paint was awesome, the chrome had a mirror-finish, and the attention to detail on this rig was second to none.

When we heard West Coast Customs was having a big rig show just down the street at California Speedway in Fontana, California, we jumped at the chance to attend.

What we saw there was an amazing mix of show trucks, work trucks, and everything in between. There were even a few drag racing semis that ran 13-second-or-better quarter-mile times at more than 100 mph. There were monster burnouts, vendors, bikini contests, and chrome everywhere. If you're into diesels and want to see a good show, we'd suggest you make sure to mark next year's event on your calendar.

The Smoking Gun drag semi made the long trip from Canada to run at the track. Massive burnouts and 100-plus-mph trap speeds were no problem for this 3,100hp Detroit Diesel 8V92-powered rig. In fact, driver Gord Cooper ran a best of 12.09 seconds at a blazing 119 mph.

Wicked paintjobs were everywhere at this event. We saw this trick layered flame setup on this big rig and had to snap a picture. Believe it or not, many of these trucks are also used for work on a regular basis.

  • West Coast Customs Big Rig Show Upgraded Parts
We saw a handful of trucks that appeared to have upgraded intakes, exhausts, and even turbos. Just like diesel pickups, most big rig owners are after more power, better fuel economy, and lower EGTs.
