Performance Flat Fours is an air-cooled Volkswagen performance shop, so you can imagine how amazed shop workers were by the huge torque numbers that the diesel trucks put down. In the end, three trucks made more than 1,000 lb-ft on the dyno. Jason Gonzales' long trip to the event proved worth it in the end, as he took home the trophy with 1,194 lb-ft from his water injection-equipped LLY Duramax.
Keep an eye out for diesel dyno competitions in your area that involve the whole community and promote a good cause. If you don't find any such events, do what Chris Brahs did, and take the opportunity to organize your own. Just remember to email us here at Diesel Power-our calendar fills up fast.
