Yankee Lake Ohio Truck Pull - Truck Night
Bigger is usually better in... Bigger is usually better in this neck of the woods, and nothing proves it more than having your very own six-door F-650. | One of the more serious pulling... One of the more serious pulling trucks we saw in attendance also wasn't shy about what kind of Cummins powered his Dodge. | The starting line at Yankee... The starting line at Yankee Lake was pretty slick, but once the trucks got going, the dirt began to fly. | The mudslide that the monster... The mudslide that the monster truck caused made the pulls run late, which means some of the Super Street pullers like Calvin Miller's On Borrowed Time, had to run later, under the cover of darkness. | Didn't know Ford made a diesel... Didn't know Ford made a diesel in the '70s? Well, it didn't. The rig turned out to be powered by a four-cylinder two-stroke Detroit Diesel. The sound of a two-stroke Detroit revving was an awesome thing. | In the Street class, some... In the Street class, some serious Fords showed up to give the Dodges a run for their money. | All sorts of diesels showed... All sorts of diesels showed up at Truck Night, such as this 6x6 army truck. Luckily for everyone else, it mainly played around in the mud pit, and didn't enter the truck tug-of-war. | Guess who showed up later... Guess who showed up later at the truck tug? You got it, the now-muddy army rig. | On the first pull the Detroit-powered... On the first pull the Detroit-powered Ford used a clutch dump to get the army rig bouncing, but the big green machine came back to take the next two pulls. | Yup, it's a diesel! This Cummins-powered,... Yup, it's a diesel! This Cummins-powered, tractor-tired Ford made short work of mud, and was one of the few trucks that could make it through Yankee Lake's big mud pit. | In case anyone got hungry... In case anyone got hungry or thirsty, Truck Night offered up plenty of food and homemade lemonade for the thousands of spectators in attendance. | Believe it or not, this work... Believe it or not, this work truck had a pretty good winning streak going in the tug-of-war. Must have been all the people crammed into the cab. | | | |
