Just when you thought the Diesel Power Challenge could not get any better, we had the biggest batch of competitors in the history of the event this year. One dozen ultramodified diesel trucks survived the journey to Salt Lake City, Utah. They hit the dragstrip, towed a 12,000-pound trailer, braved city streets during the fuel economy test, and tugged a sled in the middle of a howling rainstorm.
