 Dodge Ram Sled Pull

Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado, is known for its racetrack with state-of-the-art electronics and live Internet access to dragstrip times. It was also the home of the ATS Diesels on the Mountain Truckfest held in July. If you couldn't go to the event and see all the power, performance, pulling, and passion yourself, now you can see it here.

Of course, the main event was filled with a broad range of diesel racers-everything from high-performance pickups to Dustin Bentz's modified dragster. The latter was propelled down the track by a Cummins ISB engine and was the first diesel dragster to make a 7-second quarter-mile pass-and did it on biodiesel

Along with the diesel dragsters, the two-day event featured street-legal diesel trucks competing in bracket racing, plus an amusing collection of working rigs you'd never expect to see on a dragstrip. (Who'd have thought a cement mixer or fire truck would ever attempt a quarter-mile run?)

Besides the track action, the show exhibits, smoky burnouts, jet cars, rockcrawlers, and sled pulls were a huge draw for the massive crowd on the hot and sunny weekend. Even though ATS has been holding the event for five years, this was the first time it included a sled pull. It was worth all the extra effort, as it proved to be one of the most exciting activities of the weekend.

What's It Like to Sled Pull?Ever wonder what it's like to ride on the sled? It's quicker than a horse-drawn carriage, that's for sure, but with way more fumes and dust.
