Diesel Power Challenge 2011 Competitor Interview: Rocky Horn
1997 Ford F-350
Diesel Power: What changes are you making to the truck in order to prepare for the event?
Rocky Horn: “Getting the transmission freshened up, tuning, and maybe a new set of tires.”
DP: What was your reaction when you got the call to compete?
RH: “I was shocked, since my truck is so old [laughs].”
DP: What tires do you plan to use?
RH: “That’s a question I keep asking myself. Either Mickey Thompson ATZ’s, or Dick Cepek Fun Country's, but I’m not sure yet.”
DP: What is your strategy going to be for each event? What’s the game plan?
RH: “Try to not be so scared and take my time. And do the best I can.”
DP: What spare parts are you bringing?
RH: “A starter, boots and clamps, a spare trans, and a turbo from the shop”
DP: Who are your crewmembers?
RH: “I think: Cody Gordon, Alan Black, and Darrel Hood.”
DP: Any other thoughts?
RH: “Not really, just a lot to do between now and then.”
