Diesel Power Challenge 2011 Competitor Interview: Owen Horst 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Diesel Power: What changes are you making to the truck in order to prepare for the event? Owen Horst: “A second S400 was added as a low pressure charger for additional airflow at altitude.” DP: What was your reaction when you got the call to compete? OH: “I was excited and honored at the same time, it’s an opportunity few guys get to experience and I’m grateful for that.” DP: What tires do you plan to use? OH: “My Initial thoughts were to use a BFGoodrich All Terrain, it’s a good all around tire for the types of events that the DPC offers; however that is not finalized as of yet.” DP: What is your strategy going to be for each event? What’s the game plan? OH: “It’s not feasible to think of going out and winning every event—the plan is to just be competitive and stay near the top of the pack in most of the events, and to just have fun!” DP: What spare parts are you bringing? OH: “The usual, spare Sun Coast fully built Allison, axle shafts, spare S400 turbo’s and rebuild kits, Nitrous Tanks and Solenoids, LBZ CP3, water-pump, steering linkage components, wheel bearings, drive shafts, U-joints, injectors…” DP: Who are your crewmembers?
